VASA DRÄNGAR, Est. 1996

Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Vasa Drängar is a Swedish Men's Choir in Atlanta, GA, founded in 1996 by Göran Rygert. Its first performance was at a crawfish party for the Vasa Order lodge in Atlanta. The choir then consisted of seven singers. Today we are about 15 people. We perform at Swedish as well as other events in and around Atlanta, such as Valborgsmässoafton, Sweden's National Day, crawfish parties, Christmas parties, etc. We also sing at Scandinavian Festivals in Atlanta, as well as in Raleigh, N.C. In March 2008 we participated in the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, GA, representing Sweden at the final concert. In December 2008 we went to Raleigh, N.C. to sing at their Scandinavian Christmas Fair. In February 2009 we went to Charlotte, N.C. to sing the Swedish National Anthem at the Grand Opening of IKEA Charlotte, and on December 5th we again performed in Raleigh.
